Salle des etoiles, Monte Carlo, Monaco - IBO/WBA junior welterweight champion Khabib Allakhverdiev (19-0, 9 KOs) beat down former champion Souleymane M’Baye (40-5-1, 22 KOs) in the eleventh round. Mbaye was the mandatory?! I remember Gavin Rees beating him about 6 years ago. The WBA have no respectability.

I didn't watch the fight but I was surprised M'Baye was mentioned. I have seen him box around 14 years ago when he was a world class fighter.

He's with Top Rank so his next fight will be against the Alvarado/Provodnikov winner in a title unification

or maybe Rios in the hopes that in Alvarado/Rios 3 both fighters will have belts

He isn't a proper titlist is he?, No one counts the IBO and isn't Garcia the Real WBA Champion. I'm totally confused Ha.

              Fun fighter to watch though.

The WBA have always had 3 champions in every division, the super champion, regular champion and interim champion.

Khabib is a regular world champion and is a legit champion under the WBA.

Good win for Khabib and should be a good learning experience for him.
