Sanders definitely hurt him with a nice short right hand, Vitali was visibly shaken up by that punch but rode it out credit to him.
Other than that not many clean shots have landed on him, his style makes him hard to hit, he can easily get his head out of range by leaning backwards because he's tall and flexible, his jab is also very hard to get past, he's excellent at controlling range.
Sanders clearly hurt him pretty badly and also stunned him more than once during the fight. Vitali struggled with Sanders speed and power in the early rounds.
He has a great chin. His defense is not so perfect that he never gets hit with good punches. He has had all those pro fights and never been floored so that's proof to me he has an excellent chin. He is well past 40 years old so his chin may not be as good as it used to be but his good chin is very real.
Right. I'm not saying Vitali hasn't been touched on the chin but I can't recall anyone since Lewis catching him just right and turning his legs to jelly. Chrisora did not do that to my recollection despite landing some decent shots.
Yes but those shots he took against Lennox would taken down just about any HW.
Also the shot he received from Sanders, straight left, when Vitali was attacking (tiring himself), when Sanders was still fresh (2nd round) and that landed perfectly on his chin would KOed many greats.
The last person to test his chin has to be Sanders. IMO, he scored a legitimate knockdown.
Sorry mate, but there was not even a punch when Vitali slipped down. It was some 15-20 sec after sanders landed and after Vitali run over the whole ring. Just rewatch that one. There is absolutely no argument there.
