In a breaking story, former WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco (28-3-1, 21KOs) of Tijuana by way of Los Mochis informed ********* that the relationship that began in 2006 with promoter Gary Shaw has ended earlier this week.
“It was a great journey with Gary, we accomplished what we wanted to do and that is to win a world title and for that I thank him, he helped make my dream a reality. I wish Gary and his team the best,” the affable DeMarco said via cell phone. “Now I am looking for a new promotional outfit and I open to all offers. Hopefully my team and I can work out something soon because I am anxious to get back in the ring.”
After capturing the interim version of the title in ’09, DeMarco challenged the late Edwin Valero for the full version a year later. After suffering a defeat, DeMarco won the vacant title in a come from behind stoppage of Jorge Linares. In his last bout, DeMarco lost the belt to Adrien Broner
