Let's please not start the Ward would eat GGG alive bullshhhh...I hate this narratvie when it comes to black boxers. We have no idea how Ward would handle being socked by GGG or vice versa. Neither man has professionally fought this level of talent. Sorry but it's the truth..A Ward vs GGG fight is as of right now a 50/50 fight for both men whether folks here want to admit it or not. Ward is brilliant and has between some great fighters, he's never faced a guy with nearly 400 fights under his belt and 3 total loses over his amateur and professional career. Just like Golovkin has never faced a talented anomally like Ward. I like GGG as a slugger but anyone here acting like that's all he is hasn't really bothered to go take a look at this guys come up..he wasn't all power he was also one hell of a finesse fighter too.

I doubt the odds on a WARD vs GGG fight would be 50-50.

Ward is the favorite and damn well should be.

I'd much prefer Ward v Froch 2, or Ward moving up to 175 and fighting Pascal or Hopkins.

GGG is about 5'10'', he doesn't have the reach to get Ward, he won't be able to get close to the much bigger man to let loose his big punches. Ward is going to box rings round him.

Ward has the shortest reach of all the top SMW's at 71" inches Froch and Kessler's were listed at 74" by Showtime. HBO measures from the armpit and Froch was 24", Kessler 23", Golovkin 24" so GGG's reach is longer than Ward's.

True, but GGG is just getting warmed up in the MW division, and it's not as if he is some huge MW like Chavez Jr. As active as he is, I'd like to see him fight other MWs for a while. Ward (and Froch) will be there if and when he moves up.

Chavez Jr. would be available not sooner than next spring. And Chavez takes what fights he wants to take -- Quillin at most...

I dunno aboout eating GGG's soul, but Ward should definitely be the favorite... just can't beat that hit-n-hold style + that athleticism

Ward has the property that he is a bad style match up for every fighter he meets. Until he gets hit.
(But first we have to see if Ward is the same fighter after the injury.)
