Former champion Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero (31-2, 18KOs) is waiting to get word on his next opponent. The welterweight contender has been spending time with his family since losing a twelve round unanimous decision to Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 4th. Guerrero spoke to BoxingScene.com about the latest with his career and gives his take on Mayweather upcoming challenge of WBC/WBA 154-pound champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Floyd is faster, but if he gets caught with a bomb from Canelo, his speed goes to sleep and the fight is over. Floyd can't take a punch from Canelo. I'd rather see Guerrero fight Shane Mosley.

Shane will stand and fight, he still has some game, and it's a chance for Guerrero to beat a Hall of Famer, and a chance for Mosley to get back in the thick of things at 41 years old or so!!! This would be a very entertaining fight.... just ask Margarito!!!!!

Guerrero is spending the money he got when he cashed out against Mayweather. He and Ortiz should fight since they both folded against Mayweather. I'm glad Mayweather won because now we get to watch Canelo vs Mayweather!
