This is why am calling this a potential duck, if we apply the same standard that posters on here seem to have for certain fighters then it is a duck move, this so called "Warriors" can never be accuse of ducking "Doe" even when they are blatantly doing so (Like Maidana ducking Bradley), I can't imagine Garcia, Khan , Bradley or Broner coming out and saying this (What Maidana is saying) without all this idiotic posters on here going overdrive with how scared and how they are ducking, those are now the same idiots making excuses with the "Pay the man" "He deserves it" etc lol

Maidana's not asking for a King's ransom though, Garcia was reportedly asking for $5m. I think if Maidana was pricing himself out you'd have a point.

Maidana just wants fair compensation. There is nothing wrong with that. He is a definite draw because he's never in a boring fight, and is coming off of some impressive wins. Broner should go 60-40 with him, if not at least 70 -30.. Not of ppv proceeds since it won't be ppv, but of possible combined purses awarded.

So if 3 million is allotted for the fight, Broner should get 1.8 and Maidana 1.2 Or at the very least 2.1 and 900k.

if the fight is budgeted 2 mill, Broner should get 1.2m and Maidana 800k.. or at the very least, 1.4 and 600k


500k is too low.. anything lower is too low. 600k is the minimum he should accept in my eyes, because there's small chance the fight is going to be budgeted less than 2m. There is nothing wrong with Chino wanting fair compensation.

Maidana doesn't know the word duck. His handlers steer him certain ways and he goes by their wisdom a lot (like a lot of other fighters in the game), but in the ring he fears nothing, and that is obvious.

His team is trying to get him money. This is prize fighting we are talking about.

In retrospect, his team picking Karass over Thurman was a smart move. Thurman is a winnable fight for him, but he was being offered beans for the fight, and he was being asked to put his body in another war of attrition to make another prospect take a seat. For little money! Karass was a fight that he beasted, was given relatively the same money, and it set up a bigger payday with Lopez, and consequently, Broner, and then who knows? If he beat Broner impressively, his name would be in the Mayweather sweepstakes for sure.

Seems to me his career is being steered well. Having said all that, anyone that has taken full measure of Marcos Rene Maidana and then proceeds to utter the word duck, or coward, are completely effin delusional.
