A prime Trinidad only struggled(s) against good movers, with strong defence and perhaps some cageyness. Cotto would just be there to be hit and no matter how good a puncher Cotto is/was, Trinidad was better. Also Trinidad the bigger guy.

Who did Trinidad beat that is better than the version of Shane Mosley who Cotto has a win over?

It's unbelievable how Cotto is overlooked. You saw him at his peak against Mosley, using that jab to box, sticking and moving. That boxer puncher style would've give Trinidad problems.

Although Cotto has a few losses, he has been competitive in his defeats. You can't say the same for Trinidad who literally toyed with Tito probably worse than Hopkins did. Wrights jab killed Trinidads chances.

It would be an amazing fight, with Trinidads power ...
But I'd edge towards a prime Miguel

That very gatekeeper not only retired Margacheato for good. But lil Juan 'Juice-a-mita' Manuel might be next for the same treatment, regardless of whatever he's on, Cotto milks the pee drinking juicer.

Prime Vargas id pick over that mosley. Also cottos stamina would be his downfall hed be on the move all fight long like vs margarito only tito hits much harder n is also faster than marg.

Wright has a long reach n was able to bother tito with it but he also has that shell that was very hard to hit clean. Cotto has a shorter reach and is not nearly as hard to hit as wrinky. Trinidad would be coming all night while Cotto would be fighting off the back foot all night. He wouldn't be able to sustain that with a monster puncher with superb stamina like Trinidad

Not sure how you can be PRcan and like Cotto over Trinidad, if Trinidad represented my country there would be no second place to him. I wish I had Trinidads nuts to hug, some people take it for granted.
Are you referring to me? Why is it such a crime to like Cotto more than Trinidad? FYI I'm not Rican either.

It is not just who you beat but how you beat them. Trinidad tore it up through the 90s.

Mosley was at that point a 36 year old 14 year pro, i'd call into question the 'prime' part to be honest. You are correct though that that was still a fine version of Mosley. You'd need better footspeed and/or movement than Cotto had/has to stay clear of Trinidad's power though. I don't think that is an especially big criticism of Cotto. Personally I might actually prefer Cotto over Trinidad as a fighter.

I prefer Cottos style. But also like Trinidad. He had a simple technique with his footwork and I think it was Hopkins who pointed out that this guy needs to be in position to let his shots go. I think Cotto boxing a smart fight makes this an interesting fight but I wouldn't riwrite Cotto off.
