According to Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, WBC & WBA jr. welterweight champion Danny Garcia and top jr. welterweight contender Lucas Matthysse will participate in random blood and urine testing conducted by the United States Anti-Doping Agency [USADA] ahead of their highly-anticipated September 14 showdown on "The One: Mayweather vs. Canelo". When asked during a conference call if both fighters would be tested by either USADA or VADA [Voluntariy Anti-Doping Association], Schaefer quickly replied, "Yes they will." Because Schaefer's response was so short and he neglected to divulge any details about the testing organization, FightHype.com reached out to him for futher clarification.

"Yes, it is USADA," Schaefer reiterated via email. Prior to the fight being announced, there were rumors that negotiations hit a snag when the subject of additional testing was brought up. Apparently, Garcia and his team wanted Matthysse to participate in USADA testing, however, because he trains in Argentina, there were some concerns as to whether or not that would be possible. It's unclear at this point exactly how the logistics have been worked, but according to Schaefer, both fighters have indeed agreed and will in fact be tested by USADA.

Matthysse's chin is made of iron, not glass and he hits a tad itty bitty harder than Khan, just a little bit. Danny Garcia better go down fast. If he doesnt he's getting the beating of his life, and he's no Ajose Olusegan, he'll end up broken, bleeding and unconcious on the canvas.
