Yup, pretty much. I think it was like a week before. It was pretty damn close to the fight.

No it was proven that his test was positive for the first fight. It was the B sample (post fight) that was positive. I think there were some issues about non-disclosure or something that kept it from coming out.

I know he tested before the rematch, I don't remember hearing about a positive test from the first fight.

Yup, overtraining is a serious issue. But in all honesty, he seemed like he was in fantastic shape for the first two rounds.

But doesn't take away from the fact that he had 8 hard weeks of training going back and forth to the Philipines and LA etc.

Because they're the same ones calling him a crude slugger with no skills and they're the same ones that said Peterson would beat him, and in some cases knock Matthysse out. So when they jump on the Garcia bandwagon and give Matthysse no credit, the agenda seems obvious. Especially the ways people say Garcia will win. I can respect you and Bushbaby and the others who genuinely think Garcia can win and can give a good reason why, that's not who I'm talking about.

And Matthysse fans didn't care about the Dallas Jr. KO. We hated that he had to fight someone like that to begin with. Any bragging we did was, again, because of the people calling Matthysse a crude slugger with no skills predicting Dallas Jr. would make Matthysse look bad.
