    WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (27-0, 24KOs) does not expect fireworks in the fall fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26KOs) and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (42-0-1, 30KOs), which takes place on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Golovkin is very familiar with Canelo, as the two fighters have sparred with each other in Big Bear, California. Golovkin says Canelo has a shot to win the first half of the fight but the longer it goes the better it favors Mayweather.

                  Floyd has given us some good fights in the lowers weights but against a fighter this size he will have to stick and move. In essence, GGG is saying that Canelo won't be able to cut the ring off effectively enough to get to Mayweather consistently. Also, seems like he is aware of Canelo's stamina issues as well. It makes no sense for Floyd to willingly involve himself in exchanges with Canelo. If that happens, he will be in for a rough night.

                          agreed...canelo will gas out by the 6th or 7th round and mayweather will just do what he does and get the UD..

                              Mayweather would be ****** to try and be exciting and Alvarez isn't that kind of fighter. Maybe Alvarez will surprise us and go all out, but I don't expect that at all.
