Look at what both these legends in the sport have done and you really can't compare guys like Froch, Hatton, Haye or Khan to them. Calzaghe just like Lewis would dominate his weight class against 99.99% in any era. Lewis has begrudgingly been given respect now we are in a terrible hw era but Joe is still hated here probably because he beat many fan favorites.

Yeah I forgot about those large fan bases that Peter Manfredo, Bika, Lacy, Ashira, Salem etc all had.

Calzaghe would dominate prime Jones and James Toney? Thats a good laugh.

And "any era" is pretty funny considering 168 didnt exist until 1984 and no one took it seriously till the 90s.

SMW only got took seriously after Roy Jones emerged from it. Even Roy didn't take it seriously, he left because it was full of crap.

Seriously, Calzaghe has a terrible resume for a world champion, but then he never wanted a good one in the first place, so no one can argue with him for doing what he wanted to do.

This is Englands best back then and STILL!!!!

....Jimmy Wilde...W131.....L3....D2..!! That beats Calzaghe and Lewis's marks.

Thats an outstanding record and he was a Champion for years!! Ray.

Beating a couple of old legends at the end of his career doesn't make him an ATG. His best win is Kessler which isn't amazing.

How about a ban on these calzaghe spam threads? The next guy to post here trying to claim how great Calzaghe was is officially ****sexual.

Roy left because the division was loaded with nunn, eubanks, benn, frankie tate his nemesis from amateurs...

Light heavy was pretty garbage at the time... Old virgil hill who had been beaten by michalewski, even older mike mccallum, lou del valle, etc...
