Kovalev loses credibility here in terms of boxing knowledge. Povetkin has no shot at all, lets be honest he's pretty poor. He wasn't even interested in boxing and talking about retirement not so long ago. He's cashing out with this fight.

C'mon now, that's a little harsh. The entire tone of his reply suggests that he considers it a long shot -'nobody is invincible' etc. He's merely stating his support for his countryman, nothing wrong with that.

That said, I'm surprised anyone has much interest in Kovalevs level of boxing knowledge anyways. Fighters are typically judged on their boxing ability rather than their boxing knowledge - I suppose the latter would make for a much safer sport tho.

I hadn't heard any suggestions 'til now that Sasha was looking at retirement tho, unbeaten at 33 years old it seems odd. You got any sources?
