    Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26KOs) says everyone is building up WBC/WBA 154-pound champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (42-0-1, 30KOs) to unseat him from his throne, but after he defeats the 22-year-old star - the same people will make excuses on why Canelo was unable to win. Mayweather-Canelo will take place on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Canelo is taking a big step up competition and feels he is ready for the opportunity. Edison Reynoso, the manager of Canelo, says they were offered the opportunity to fight Mayweather a few years ago, but passed because they felt Canelo wasn't ready.

      And floyd is probably right....

      Canelo is big but not that much bigger size wise than floyd.... reach and height will be roughly even....

      Canelo will be much like a ortiz and ghost,,, If floyd doesnt grow old overnight, he should coast to a UD

                      What Alvarez is doing by fighting Mayweather is the equivalent of going from the high school football B-team to the NFL. When Alvarez loses, all the haters will say that Floyd only fought him because he was still on the B-team and was not ready for the NFL. Then they will claim that Mayweather is ducking real NFL-caliber players like Golovkin (who is really nothing but the equivaen of a Division II player on a college team).

                              Canelo should talk to Nonito Donaire. On September 15, he's probably going to feel like Donaire did after Rigondeaux took him to school.

                              Being surrounded by people telling you you're the best doesn't actually make you the best.
