Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26KOs) says everyone is building up WBC/WBA 154-pound champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (42-0-1, 30KOs) to unseat him from his throne, but after he defeats the 22-year-old star - the same people will make excuses on why Canelo was unable to win. Mayweather-Canelo will take place on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Canelo is taking a big step up competition and feels he is ready for the opportunity. Edison Reynoso, the manager of Canelo, says they were offered the opportunity to fight Mayweather a few years ago, but passed because they felt Canelo wasn't ready.
