He beat Barrera twice and only got one win to show for it. He clearly lost the third fight, but it was a tough break because he had his nose broken as early as the 2nd round. From that point on, everytime you breathe in your nose, you increase the swelling. He really had no shot, but he gave it his all and even won the championship rounds against Barrera that third fight. So, losing the trilogy, he goes and fights Pacquiao and wins a thriller, but Pacquiao complains about not getting to use the gloves he wanted. He uses the gloves he wanted and stops Morales in the rematch. I wish Morales had gotten his 2 wins over Barrera so all this wouldn't be as bad. But he's had some bad breaks in his career, despite providing great thrills EVERY time out with the exception of the Raheem fight.
Morales is just a prime example of a fighter having more pride than brains. He didn't need to be in all those wars and he had no business fighting Raheem at 135. His career has taken some big blows in the last 2 years while producing little good. I hope he can come back and finish the trilogy against Pacquiao. You know he wants to, but we have to make sure it's in his best interest as a fighter before we go asking for it. How much is left in the tank? I'll pull for him to come back strong.
