World Boxing Council president Don Jose Sulaiman has indicated that minimumweight Silver champion Denver Cuello who suffered a rotator cuff injury in his losing bid to wrest the world title from China's Xiong Zhao Zhong does not have to spend for his medical expenses.
In an email to Games and Amusements Board boxing division chief Dr. Nasser Cruz who has been communicating with the WBC about the non-payment of Cuello's purse and his injury, a copy of which the WBC president forwarded to BoxingScene.com/Manila Standard, Sulaiman said "The world tittle fight Zhong-Cuello was covered by the WBC life and hospital insurance paid by the WBC, and the cost of the surgery shall be covered by it."
