    Freddie Roach is training Cotto

Freddie Roach is now training Miguel Cotto. Roach's defensive style (use your legs / none) and midrange attack might work for Cotto, but Freddie hasn't done well lately. What do you guys think?

Yeah, maybe, but Cotto has always been an offesiveminded fighter. Diaz and the cubans regularly cater to great fundamental defense. I think Roach is perfect for Cotto. Plus he knows which are Cottos good qualities and what to focus on.. Not his damn straight I hope.

dumb move. His moves become dumber every fight he makes. First dumps his uncle.. ok family problems whatever. But picks his "best friend" inexperienced trainer. He gets tore up in Clottey and Pacquiao. Goes to Emmanuel Steward, great move actually. Leaves, goto Pedro Diaz good move again, but leaves now. Goes to Freddie Roach who is professional declining and physically declining with his disease. No disrespect to Freddie, but still ******ed move. He was better off with Diaz and actually listen to him and learn and not be so hard headed.

At this stage of Cotto's career, it doesn't matter who trains him. You can't teach an old dog new tricks and Pedro Diaz was about as good as a defensive trainer as you can get.

I think Cotto is just trying to make excuses as to why he's not winning. The reality is, that Cotto is just not a prime fighter anymore.

I agree, plus imo he needs to be fighting at 47, he is not a 154 pounder.

I agree he just got lazy and was tired of putting in hard work to get down to 147.
