Floyd respects the sport of boxing. He doesn't do the ring antics. He stays focused always his guard up and is 100% focused in the fight.

Maidana and Broner showed a ton of guts in the ring tonight. Broner was hurt multiple times and got back up to fight. Maidana was dead tired at times and could barely stand, but would summon the energy to snap back the momentum every time Broner tried to take control.

Two things are certain after this fight.

1: Maidana will now get a serious paycheck fight next.
2: Broner seriously needs to dedicate himself to the sport to have any chance to be a future star.

Broner did show heart but it's hard to give him too much credit when he was complaining at the ref constantly, taking cheapshots and feigning injury.

I would agree with you if he got knocked out cold by a lucky punch in the first or second round, but he didn't. He got beat by a B fighter, at best, for 12 rounds. For 12 rounds, he couldn't adjust to the style of a slow, plodding, gassing fighter with a suspect chin. What makes you think he will change his style after 24 years? He won't.

He just was never and will never be as good as you thought he was, that's all.

Maidana is hardly as bad as you're making him out to be, and has shown himself to be a world class fighter of championship calibre over many years, but has been let down by inconsistency and some flaws that can be taken advantage of by a certain style.

However, at his best, he is certainly among the very best at 140/147 and has some traits that are among the elite.

The stuff you say he lacks is clearly wrong too. He can get hit cleanly, and dropped, but it's abundantly clear he has a very good chin all things considered. He also has a very good gas tank and has thrown 1000 punches during fights with serious power on them, which is a rare trait. All fighters that throw with the type of power he puts into it need breathers, but Maidana is always punching and always finishes strong.

Margarito is slow, Maidana is not. Plodding yes, slow no. He's not fast, but he's also not slow. He's got some underrated traits too that get overlooked.
