Tony Thompson in his prime was a fairly decent win. In terms of this era of Heavyweights he's a good fighter however lets not get too carried away as David Price was billed as something he's not. Look at his record and all he fought previous to TT was domestic level fighters, he's the definition of good promoting aka over hyped.

The first Brewster fight was nine years ago. Wlad has had a very successful run since then.

        Why the hate for Wlad?

          Half decent win.

Thompson is an average HW with little power.

I would say a good win but not great.

I would rate it as a GOOD win, sort of in between the 2 middle options. Thompson is a good, crafty top ten fighter, but Wladamir has beaten better, more proven fighters than Tony IMO.

I remember saying at the time it was a very good and underrated win, because Thompson is very strong and durable, and has a tricky southpaw style.
The win itself is nothing special but it does show how big the distance is between wlad and the field of hwt's-which illustrates why he is a first ballot hof'er IMO.

Thompson just isn't that good and him being at or near the top of the division for so long illustrates how weak the hwt division has been.

Thompson keeps proving Wlad's win over him in 2008 is underrated.

It's pretty good, especially in retrospective. As probably some of other Wlad wins will be.

Fantastic win for Wlad. Tony the Tiger is one of the most underrated boxers in the sport (haters dismiss him because he lost to Wlad, go figure)

And when Wlad beats Pulev..... That's going to be another fantastic viceroy to add to the list of impressive W's on the résumé!
