It was Vasquez who pulled out of the unification citing illness or something.. Chelo Gonzalez was his unbeaten mandatory and he was bloody good until he got injured. Beltran is a top 10 LW, tough enough fight to take after getting hurt a couple of times in his last defence. He plans to fight again in December.

Crolla would be a crap defence, but Warren's making assumptions on that one.

Warren's article has a bitter tone.

Frank Warren had Burns fighting Nicky Cook, Andreas Everson and Joseph Layrea. Nice one Frank. The bitterness dripping off every word in your article is makes for very ugly reading.

Gonzales is now a great fighter just because he gave Burns a hard fight.....lol. Top 10? Burns has been a champion for a while now, should he just be settling for anyone in the top 10?

This myth that Matchroom make the best fights is falling apart.

Yeah but also Rocky Martinez, Michael Katsidis and Kevin Mitchell all in the UK. Even Paulus Moses is way better than the two people he's fought since joining Matchroom.

Warren would have never allowed him to fight anyone, he would be defending his titles against mediocre competition or has-beens with names (Katsidis) probably Casamayor etc the Vasquez fight was never going to happen, we have seen it all before with Warren, it's never his fault but the other side. He did the same shet with Hatton and Khan until they left him, it's only after they leave then he would come out and claim how he had a unification fight set up with so so and so.... Blah blah blah..

Frank Warren has more bullsjhitt then a cow field & is only in the Boxing game for his own financial gain. His connections with the WBO are shuddy at best & very corrupt!

Why else would anyone be in the sport? You are right about the bull**** though, according to him every fighter who left him would have achieved it all if they had only stayed with him. Maybe he'd keep more fighters if he learnt to smile every now and again.

From FWP - "There was a signed contract in place for Ricky Burns' unification fight against IBF World Champion Miguel Vazquez and Ricky also declined a written offer to fight Adrien Broner."
