As reported earlier by BoxingScene.com, light heavyweight contender Allan Green (32-4, 22KOs) has withdrawn from tonight's ESPN televised card. On Thursday he was six pounds over the contract limit of 180-pounds for his fight with undefeated prospect Eleider Alvarez (12-0, 8KOs) at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, Connecticut. Green came in at 186-pounds, while Alvarez was two pounds under the limit at 178. Green was ordered to give up 20% of his purse, $3,000 dollars, to Alvarez.

This is probably not the case, but...

I follow professional bodybuilding, and it's not uncommon that some competitors gets "food poisoning" a couple of days before the show. It's not about food poisoning, it's usually about diuretics. With Green common in over the limit and having "food poisoning" this is what came up in my mind. Probably just a coincidence, though.

Pretty crazy though, that he fought at 168 not too long ago, and now has trouble making 180. That his purse was only $15k is another thing.
