TS must've watched the Rocky marathon on HBO today. To answer your question it might be advantageous. Cotto is a professional and knew how to keep him in the fight. Guerrero isn't even orthodox for a southpaw. We all saw how Floyd danced around and toyed with him. Cotto doesn't get enough credit for how brilliant his approach was to the Floyd fight tbh.

I've always felt he should come in at 147 as crazy as it sounds. Do what you do best and thats rely on your speed and quickness. Just like pacman does, you almost never see him at the full weight but he's always comfortable.

I think he's had problems in both fights but I do think there were real reasons for it. I truly believed that he was freaked out coming into the Oscar fight. He was super small at LW, 140, & e****ally WW whille Oscar had been all the way to MW and had just decapitated the super tough Mayorga.
Floyd was big at 130 and was by no means considered a "small" when he moved up to light weight, let alone "super small". Was he smaller than JLC? Yes, but JLC was huge for the division.

          Floyd is truly a 140lber.

If he feels best at 147 that is what he should come in at. He will need all the speed and stamina he can get to win the fight. If 147 is his ideal weight then coming in heavier will only slow him down. Unnecessary pounds won't make him stronger or hit harder. If Floyd feels he can carry a few more pounds than 147 and be stronger without losing speed then that is what he should do.Mayweather knows what he is doing and whatever weight he comes into the ring at will be the right weight.

Floyd was 138 pounds for both JLC fights so what do you consider that? He was tall, not big.

There is no rule saying he has to weigh over 147. All he has to do is weigh in at 152 or less. He can come in at 135 if he wants to and there is no rule against that. He won't do that of course but the point is there is only a top weight limit and no minimum weight limit.

What gloves will they be using, is it 8 or 10 oz? I know it's suppose to be 10 over 147 but this can also be negotiated.

Um yes. Why would he wan't to be even smaller than he already is? It's never good to be too light for the weigh ins against your opponent. NEVER!
