Comments Thread For: Martin Murray Warns Golovkin's Trainer: I'm No Macklin

Middleweight contender Martin Murray (25-1, 11KOs) warned Abel Sanchez, trainer of IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golobkin (27-0, 24KOs), that he presents a much tougher challenge than Golovkin's opponent from last Saturday night, Matthew Macklin. Golovkin stopped Macklin in three easy rounds.

Murray lost a very close decision to Sergio Martinez in April, a fight where Martinez was dropped and suffered numerous injuries that are going to keep him out until 2014.

Golovkin is interested in facing Murray on November 2. Murray has denied reports that he already received an offer for the contest, but he feels very confident that he can burst Sanchez's prediction of an easy KO win.

He's right. Murray is an apparent powerhouse. He has to be one of the stronger fighters out there P4P. His back is obscenely massive. And he's durable. He was literally walking right through Sergio Martinez' power left hands. He could make things interesting in a GGG match.

Styles makes fights... But if GGG demolishes Murray... He damn well demolishes Martinez... I'm hoping Murray exposes him so that Martinez can just come in and school him...

This would be a great fight, but for the love of whatever it is you love, make the GGG vs Broner fight first.

Golovkin-Murray would be a great fight, and the winner can get Martinez in 2014.

Definitely the best fight that can happen right now since Quillen is stuck with Showtime & Goldenboy.

Murray is tough and a grinder. He's not there to lay down or survive. He's there to make a hard fought scrap. This would be the ultimate test for GGG. If he can run through Murrary that would be mad impressive. Murrary will make it a war though. I really hope this happens.
