  • Comments Thread For: Rios' Trainer: Manny Pacquiao is in a Make or Break Fight

Eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao will be in a “make or break fight” with Brandon “Bam Bam” Rios when they clash at the Venetian Hotel & Casino in Macao on November 24.

Rios’ trainer Robert Garcia, the former world champion, told BoxingScene.com/Manila Standard that he expects Pacquiao to be “in the best shape ever because it is a make or break fight for him and if he loses he may retire. That’s why we know he’ll have the best preparation ever. We know Manny is a superstar and he’ll be better than ever.”

Garcia who trains his brother, featherweight champion Mikey Garcia and former WBO, Ring Magazine super bantamweight champion Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire said he expects the Pacquiao-Rios fight to be “a war between two great fighters, great warriors.”

As long as Pacquaio keeps doing his early training with Buboy I do not feel comfortable betting money on him. I have never ever liked his work with Buboy because if you look at Buboy's fighters they are absolutely attrocious and while folks blame freddie for not teaching manny defense I think all that boils down to what Buboy works with Manny on and what Pacquaio ends up believing wins him fight. He gained all his success being offensive and that's all Buboy works on..ever! He then gets to Roach with a go only forward approach and in interviews i've detected Roach is at his wits end with Pacquaio but just goes with whatever the guy wants at this point. When it comes down to you offering your fighter a benjamin for every knockdown in training you know he's not focused he's just there to be there and do what he wants.

Rios is gonna take a bad beating. Rios is very limited and is tailormade for Manny. I wouldnt be surprised if he gets hattoned. I dont care what anyone says this is a total mismatch. Easy win for Pacquiao. Hope Im wrong because I would love to see a war. To me Alvarado is a more interesting fight for Pacquiao.

Manny is going to punish Rio's and then finish him! The exact same way he took Magarito apart.

If Robert and Lee lean on the technical experience develop early in Lee's career, he should've able to box Mannys ears off easy. Manny most likely will be on the juice this fight, so Lee needs to be smart, take him into the later rounds then unleash the beast after round 8 or so.

I'm assuming that this fight will be a replay of Pacquiao-Margarito, but with Manny taking way less punishment, and dishing out way more. If Manny was able to maim and mangle Margarito, I'd expect Rios to be a walk in the park. Manny's been knocked out before, so I'm not really worrying about his chin. Rios also won't be setting any traps, so Manny should see everything coming at him.

If PACMAN is not fighting Mayweather, I hope this is his last fight!
