Comments Thread For: Klitschko vs. Povetkin Event Draws Interest From HBO

According to Russian promoter Vladimir "красивый" Hryunov, HBO has expressed interest in televising the long awaited heavyweight showdown between WBA/WBO/IBO/IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko (60-3, 51KOs) and mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin (24-0, 18KOs), which takes place on October 5th at the massive Olimpiyskiy Stadium in Moscow, Russia.

No surprise there. I hope they pick it up so I don't have to look for it.

I know Povetkin is the best contender, but does anyone really give him a chance?

So if Wlad wins does he become the WBA Super-Regular Heavyweight Champ? If Pusvetkin wins do they switch belts?

Get this fight! More of this and less of Shimming career till he fights at least 10 rounders. Been waiting for Povetkin to finally step up.

HBO have sensed that this bout will have controversy.

Does anyone know the status of the Vitali Stiverne fight? This will be a good legacy addition to Wlad, but Vitali Stiverne will be more exciting. I read the deadline was June 3rd or it went immediately to purse bid, but its been completely absent from the news.
