The future of Boxing is on HBO

In the next year or so Showtime/goldenboy/al Gaymon are going to run out of in house blockbusters to put on. They're going to come back with their tail between their legs becausr in the mean time Top Rank/DiBella/ K2/ Gary Shaw/Main Events/ Russel Peltz/ all the English Promoters are going to be matching their fighters in close meaningful fights that people want to see on HBO. Al Haymon and Golden Boy have made themselves exclusive and their own league a la special Olympics. Just think, we're seeing Golovkins fights, Chavez , Cleverly- Kovalev, geale v barker, probably Klitschko -Povetkin, pacquiao Rios, potentially Adamek vs. Jennings at the end of October. HBo is where it's at. Showtime and Golden Boy are going to look bad really soon.

The HBO - GBP/Haymon break up has been a blessing in disguise for fans. It produced a healthy competition.
Showtime doesn't have funds for building up another Bertos, Broners, Canelos out of tomato cans. Their only choice is to make fights fans want to see.
Lucky for Schaefer and Haymon they have enough stars, which HBO built up, to last them a while in making in-house fights.

showtime still has floyd canelo and broner. Matthysse is just as hot as ggg. Canelo and Broner outdid GGG and showtime has9 mil subscribers fewer than HBO.only TR is HBO exclusve-the other promoers can make fights as they wish.

right now ward and ggg are better fighters than broner or canelo-but canelo and broner outsell both by a huge margin.

That's cool. It still won't stop me from watching fights on Showtime, NBC Sports Network, ESPN2, Tv Azteca or Fox sports.

The more boxing for me, the better

I absolutely agree with you 100 percent. I'm just saying Showtime and Golden Boy face a dead end. There's limited possibilities.

Sure the other promoters "could" go there if they wanted, but Haymon doesn't want any tough fights for his guys. Fights like Broner/Rees was the reason HBO stopped doing business with them in the first place. The real competition and fights of slconsequebce beyond the al haymon universe will be on HBO.

What's with users taking sides on promorters? Do they pay your bills? Do you know them personally? I could understand being a fan of a fighter but now it's TR V GBP wars among users. Pathetic.
