      Reality is that every person on this planet should be able to have a decent job and be able to have disposable income on things like this? Sorry, man, but that's not how reality is. In reality, there are people struggling to stay afloat when they have families to support or have dead end jobs that don't pay crap. If everyone in this country could have a decent job, that sure would solve a lot of the economic problems that this country faces, but that's not reality.

      I'm not saying I'm lumping myself into this category. I am one of those fortunate enough to have a decent job that allows me the luxury to buy these sort of things, but in "reality", as you say, that's not the case with every single person here.

That's like a snowboarder complaining about board prices or a photographer complaining about lens prices. If you can't afford to support your vice/entertainment choice, don't engage in it, keep it to yourself, or deal with people rolling their eyes when you complain about a fee no one is forcing you to pay.
        I agree that you need to be able to afford your hobby/interests but it's different when you are already engaged in said hobby and prices go up.

        Take the snowboarder example. Is a passionate snowboarder supposed to just cold turkey snowboarding because prices go up all of a sudden? No, the snowboarder is going to want to keep snowboarding but at the same time be frustrated by the fact that their hobby has suddenly become more expensive.

          here's my problem with that theory most people spend same PPV on regular stuff on weekly basis from eating out; the movies people who buy video games etc. Hell people more cable/internet bills each month. from the time the fight was announced until Sept 14 you can save $15 each month to pay for it. In reality those prices aren't alot of money.

            I'm a Mayweather fan, but I've never agreed with charging for fights, and I definitely don't agree with raising the price of PPV. This only makes boxing more of a niche sport. I can afford the PPV, but that doesn't mean I agree with the principle of it. Fights used to be broadcast on mainstream television. Now even the big ones hardly get any coverage on the big networks.

              This year, the average supportive fan(HBO, Showtime, PPV)is going to spend nearly $700 on boxing.

              Those justifying the price keep this in mind. If you order one or two PPVs a year, you have no right to justify shit imhfo.

                How do you get that number when so far it will only be 4 PPV's this year are you including UFC in that number?

                  HBO + Showtime = $30 a month

                  30x12=360

                  $75(MayvsNelo)+$70(MayGuerro)+$65(MarquezTim)+$65? (PacRios)=275

                  360+275=635 + Tax in some states and cable/sat fees

                  This is just to follow and support the sport on a casual basis. We're not even talking about those who spend on Independent shows like Paulie against that Russian guy or GGG vs Ishida or those Top Rank PPVs.

                  Obviously most dedicated fans stream, but there are some fans like myself who support the sport and pay these high prices on a yearly basis and Boxing isn't my only entertainment choice.

                    I'm sure he's factoring in the subscription costs for Showtime AND HBO which is a great point to my earlier argument. I actually don't subscribe to Showtime because it will just be another expense that will burden me financially. It's just another aspect of how this sport can really bend you over and stick it to you.

                      I wouldn't count your cable sub as part of that unless you only have HBO and Showtime just for boxing cause when I was in the States I know I didn't I enjoy shows on both so boxing happened to be a extra bonus
