Golovkin-Macklin drew 1.1M viewers, Highest rating yet for GGG

    Dan Rafael ‏@danrafaelespn 3m
    Per Nielsen, @gggboxing-Macklin drew 1.1M viewers, best of GGG’s 3 @HBOboxing fights. (more) #boxing

    Dan Rafael ‏@danrafaelespn 2m
It was a 35% increase over @gggboxing's Jan undercard fight vs Rosado (813k viewers). GGG’s @HBOboxing debut vs. Proksa drew 685k viewers.

    Dan Rafael ‏@danrafaelespn 3m
It clear @gggboxing is gaining an audience with each successive fight on @HBOboxing, which also put a lot of marketing behind Sat's fight.

Dan is right. GGG is catching on.

Interesting. I hope Golovkin gets to stay at MW if that's where he is at his best.

Martinez, Quillin, Sturm, Chavez Jr, Geale... step up and take your medicine.

Wow, HBO found themselves a budget fighter. Doesn't charge over a million bucks for a fight and he puts on a good show that draws numbers.

And only got paid 350K for it. Rios made $1.25 mil for his 1.2 mil ratings against Alvarado's $650K in their rematch.

I think there is a chance Golovkin drew the extra numbers but truthfully to me it was people tuning in to see Macklin fight for a world title and most likely had no idea who Golovkin was.

Yeah because Macklin is huge in the states. He had his own "2 days" special on HBO that had a couple million views right? Oh wait
