Death is a natual step of the life cycle, it may bother some, but others are perfectly fine with accepting the reality of it, maybe it's just easier with my religious and military background. Still, his intentions are his own, we are no one to judge him for them, I don't see it as a reminder of death, I only see it as a dedication to someone special in his life, you don't have to focus on the negative aspect of it.
