Maidana suffered a thorax trauma. He is at home, a bit sore. "Just a scare", says the sports newspaper Olé. But he is going to hospital for some more controls. http://www.ole.com.ar/boxeo/Solo-susto_0_947305554.html

What do you mean by that? Chino has nothing to do with his car accident. Unless you are talking about Asian drivers lol

          Translation:

Marcos Maidana suffered a traffic accident in Santa Fe, but is out of danger. The Chinese was taken to hospital in Reconquista and, as confirmed to Olé, was diagnosed with chest trauma.

Marcos Rene Maidana is wondering if next victim in the ring and even dreaming about Floyd Mayweather. Meanwhile, the Chinese took refuge in his land Santa Fe But sadly, that is born in Margarita suffered a traffic accident, but is completely out of danger.

As confirmed Sebastian Contursi, Maidana advisor to Olé , the boxer did not drive the car (a Chevy Meriva), but it was in the passenger seat with the seat belt. The owner was driving the vehicle: Jascinto Baigorria, friend and fighter.

"They came back a sparring Jascinto to Margarita. The accident was near the town of Malabrigo" said Contursi. Immediately, the Chinese was taken to hospital where he was treated by Dr. Guidi. Completely lucid, thankfully only suffers pain and trauma to the chest. He was then taken to Reconquista for more studies. A scare.

I have just read different newspapers and I'm not so sure the accident didn't have any consequences at all for Chino. "He is lucid", they say, so let's wait a bit. The accident was less than four hours ago. If there's something new, I will report.

Chino is in the hospital. X-Ray and tomography results are OK, but he is "very sore". From the press agency Télam:http://www.telam.com.ar/notas/201306...-santa-fe.html

There was a release from the Maidana team. The press agency Télam has published it:

(Télam) Maidana suffered a car accident on Sunday afternoon on National Route 11, near the town of Mal Abrigo.

The WBA Welterweight Champion International "suffered a traffic accident, but, thank God, did not suffer serious injuries", states the release.

"Just after 7.00 pm, Maidana was in the passenger front seat of a Chevrolet Meriva driven by his friend and amateur boxer Jacinto Baigorria".

"They returned from the city of Reconquista to Maidana home in Margarita, when they collided with a Ford Ranger pickup truck coming in the opposite direction."

"Despite maneuvers to avoid collision, both vehicles apparently touched and ended on the side of the road."

"Baigorria was unhurt, while Maidana had intense pain in the chest area, so he was derived by paramedics who treated him at the place of the accident to the Central Hospital of the city of Reconquista."

"At all times Maidana was lucid and conscious of time and space and recalled in detail what happened before and after the collision, as confirmed by the Reconquista hospital director, Dr. Roberto Cevallos."

"Maidana underwent routine medical studies. X-Rays, tomography and ultrasound, the results, thankfully, discarded injury of any kind."

"We checked from head to toe and we can say that Maidana is fine in neurological and clinical terms. The checks discarded injuries and tomorrow (Monday) we will evaluate him again, but we are not worried," said Dr. Cevallos.

For reasons of medical protocol, the boxer will spend the night in the Reconquista Central Hospital, where he remains under observation, although doctors do not rule out that today, Monday, he can return home.
