This is exactly what I expect to happen.
If May beats Canelo; Pac looks impressive vs. Rios,..does Pac vs. May finally happen?

I know by just looking at your profile that i'm probably wrong, but surely you aren't trying to say that the way Mayweather wins this fight, proves that he'd indefinitely win the same way if Manny was prime? That is beyond ridiculous. Manny looks nothing like he did when he was prime, though he is still one of the best fighters in the world. That is of course, assuming Mayweather wins this fight. Noone can say for definite who'd win out of Prime Manny/Prime Floyd, as the fight didn't materialise. I'll let the fangirls whine over the reasons why.It should, honestly this is the most realistic time it can happen in, being that Floyd has agreed to fight twice next year. It would still be a great fight, Neither has declined to the point where it won't be an accurate depiction of them in their primes, unlike the Manny/Oscar fight, which should have never happened.
Hopefully this fight gets made, for us boxing purists, and for the haters who will have one less thing to cry about when Floyd retires.
I'd love to see the fight now still though. Manny is still a great fighter, but has really declined a lot. Would still be a big eventComment

It will happen as Floyd's last fight on the Showtime deal. Listen why.
Pacquiao has 4 fights left on his Top Rank contract. Fall 2013, Spring 2014, Fall 2014, and Spring 2015. They'll probably be Rios, Bradley II, Marquez V, and Alvarado/Abregu.
Mayweather's last fight on the Showtime deal is Fall 2015, which would ironically be the first time available for Manny to fight after his last Top Rank. I wouldn't be surprised if this is Mayweather and/or Manny's plan at this point.Comment

They will fight but it will be like the 90's heavys
tyson-holyfield in 96,97 should have been in 89,90
Holyfield-lewis 99 should have been in 92,93,94
Lewis-tyson 02 should have been in 95,96,97
Lewis-bowe never did happen should have in 93
This fight will happen,,, Too much money for it not to... Just wont happen when it has any type of legacy meaning... It will be akin to hopkins-jones 2Comment

The funny thing is Mayweather hasn't been prime since 2007 and Manny since 2009. Mayweather is probably further removed from his prime than Manny.I know by just looking at your profile that i'm probably wrong, but surely you aren't trying to say that the way Mayweather wins this fight, proves that he'd indefinitely win the same way if Manny was prime? Manny's speed and everything isn't even much different than it was in 2010-2011, same goes for Mayweather. The only difference is Manny got caught by a perfectly placed punch from Marquez.
This fight still means something big, ONLY IF Manny comes back and looks good in his next few fights obviously. If he looks declined, than it doesn't matter.Comment

No way to compare it to that. Jones was completely shot at that point, I mean it was like Ali in 1980 against Larry Holmes. Pacquiao got caught in his last fight, but no one is going to say s**t when he comes back and kills Rios. Pacquiao is still one of the best fighters on the planet. They will fight but it will be like the 90's heavys

NO. Pac Rios is meaningless, just like Floyd Pac. Pac's only goal is the same one for the last 9 years: beat Marquez convincingly, something he will never doComment

A lot of criticisms of recent Manny has been his stamina in the later rounds, where he tends to cruise the later rounds and doesn't fire as much. That is so much different from the beast he used to be. The fight wasn't long enough for us to scope or make many conclusions about it.
One conclusion you can make though, is the way it ended. How much can you attribute that KO loss to Marquez's power, or Manny's punch resistance?
Can certainly question Manny's punch resistance after the fight, not many fighters recover from KO's like that and regain their iron chin.
He did look decent I agree, but many fighters have shown glimpses of their prime form if they are really pushed for it, but it doesn't last long. Just look at Shane Mosley.Comment
