The fight could tell you if he was forced. He fought Canelo because of his style and his marketability. Easy pay day and easy style.
Was Mayweather forced to fight Alvarez?

Step 1: Accuse Floyd of ducking fighter A.
Step 2: Continually bash him, call him a coward & predict fighter A will KO him.
Step 3. Once Floyd signs to fight fighter A, claim that he was forced into the fight & slowly start to change the tune on how dangerous the fight is.
Step 4. Floyd wins(as usual), call fighter A green, old, or a bum.
Step 5. Find the next MONSTER that is REALLY the guy that can beat Mayweather & start the process all over again.Last edited by megadeth; 05-09-2015, 07:05 PM.Comment

If we learned one thing about Mayweather is that no one forced him to do anything. He fought Alvarez because the timing was right, which is why it sold 2 million PPV's.
Also not a dangerous fight for Floyd. He not only easily beat Alvarez, he toyed and humiliated him.
If anything it was GBP that forced the fight on Alvarez who clearly wasn't ready.Comment
