BoxingScene.com has been advised that hot prospect Eddie Gomez is set to fight Steve Upsher Chambers on Aug. 19 at the Best Buy Theater in New York, part of a Fox Sports Network card.
Gomez, 20, is a fast-rising prospect in the junior middleweight division. Promoted by Golden Boy, his record stands at 14-0 (9 KOs). The native of Hondura has shown good speed, power and athleticism. Chambers (24-2-1, 6 KOs), the brother of Eddie Chambers, represents the stiffest test of Gomez's young career.
