Ibeth Zamora easily turned back the challenge of Maricela Quintero, picking up her third straight win with a 9th round stoppage in their junior flyweight title fight.
Zamora was in control every round, delivering a beating without having to worry about much coming back in return. Quintero braved the assault for as long as she could, but her face was battered and bloodied enough to where she was convinced by her corner to remain on her stool prior to the start of the ninth round.
The win is Zamora’s third straight as she advances to 18-5 (7KO). Quintero sees her record move to 11-4-1 (0KO) as suffers her second straight loss.
Yazmin Rivas continues to enjoy a career turnaround, extending her win streak with a 10-round whitewash of Japan’s Kimika Miyoshi.
Scores were 100-90 across the board for Rivas, who hasn’t lost since deciding to appear on a boxing reality show more than two years ago. The 25-year old has since won seven sanctioned bouts as she improves to 28-7 (9KO).
Miyoshi snaps a five-fight win streak as she falls to 8-6-1 (3KO).
