It was as clear as day before the fight that Macklin would not last and Golovkin was levels above. Macklin somehow managed to gain a lot of credibility as a solid 160lber despite his best win being Joachim Alcine.

Appears to me that everyone thinks Golovkin just passed his acid test with that win, nah, he's still yet to fight a solid, proven middleweight.

That said, as good as he looked. Of all of the top middleweights, Macklin had the perfect style to make GGG look great. GGG would clearly be favored to beat any middleweight in boxing. That said, let's not put him in the HOF just yet. Let's SEE him do it against the very best.

Greetings! While i agree with your point the same could be said about Floyd Mayweather especially over the past 4 years but Golovkin is different.....he's got devastating power and a great technique that very few fighters can stand up to. As i said in another post "If Golovkin touches you, you go down". That kind of power especially in BOTH hands has not been seen since Mike Tyson. Time will prove GGG's greatness and IMHO i am convinced that he had already arrived and he will cruise easily into the HOF. Last - personally i can't stand hype and the smoke and mirror style of todays Promoters etc.....i simply don't see Gennady in that category and those that place him there are not seeing whats obvious....That The Sport of Boxing has a "LEGITIMATE" new superstar.

Yeah where the haters at now? Golovkin is a beast, martinez would have 0 chance in beating him.

I think Macklin was solid but people see GGG knock him out in three and say "wow he's that good". Punchers often look good but there are still some tests I would like to see GGG pass before I jump on board. Just because GGG hits harder than Martinez doesn't mean he's better. But GGG passed this test with flying colors. I need to see more big wins before I put him up in the p4p ratings.

Heh, you can keep believing what you want, but don't be surprised when GGG cleans house at Middleweight.

there is little skill in waiting for a guy to beat everybody before saying yeah I think he is good. if you think you can judge fighters and their potential then do, otherwise just accept that you can't judge fighters abilities at all and can only look at names on paper. GGG is the truth you can see it in the way he moves the way he slips the way he picks his shots and cuts off the ring
