look, i dont rate macklin high at all. a decent c class fighter at best. with that said, hes good enough to be among the best in the mw division. what does that say 2 things. the mw division is trash and that golovkin is arguably the best mw simply based on the fact that most of the the other fighters are that much below him

Golovkin is more than a competent defender. He rarely gets hit with big punches. For a guy that's as aggressive as him he rarely gets hit with huge shots. Freakin mayweather got hit a lot when he actually fought auite aggressively against cotto.

He is aware of punches coming at him, he get's hit but mostly by " Keep away from me punches " from guys terrified of him.

You dont go 300+ amateur and 30+ pro fights without knockdown by being just a competent defender.

we all know quillin is a fraud. when they were both on hbo quillin said he's too risky. it's easy to open your mouth when you are on safe showtime grounds fighting bums like that last dude who was ko'd by grady brewer.

I would love to see Mayweather JR come "DEFEND" his 154 title against GGG and see that big liver shot take JR to the mat squallin fo his mama !!!!!!

            But

you and I know May Jr is too much of a chicken to challenge himself

he looks , he picks , he protects

GGG impressed me with his footwork. He started fast and cut off the ring well. Also, he showed some head movement and athleticism that I didn't know he had in him. He took a few good shots, but his chin is granite.

GGG and Matthysse are both showing crazy amounts of growth in their last few fights. I think GGG is a better athlete and cuts off the ring better. I'm not sure who hits harder, doe.

Last - DiBella is no fool and knows that Martinez has no shot but he should manage his words better in interviews especially when he says that Golovkin is over rated or hyped.
Some of us like to actually see guys in the ring against proven fighters before annointing them. Yes, GGG looks the part. But before tonight, he had never fought anything that resembled a legitimate middleweight contender. Now that we've seen him in at that level, it somewhat legitimizes the hype. That said, as good as he looked. Of all of the top middleweights, Macklin had the perfect style to make GGG look great. GGG would clearly be favored to beat any middleweight in boxing. That said, let's not put him in the HOF just yet. Let's SEE him do it against the very best.
