At first if you don't succeed try try again................throughout the fight!
If you remember Oscar had a good solid jab working early and in the middle but backed off the punch in the later rounds, not a good move!
The jab is a muli-purpose punch, it scores, it sets up, it forces defense, and its a punch that can be sent from different positions and thrown at diiferent areas!!! This may sound very simple and very basic but those are the techniques and methods you always start with, the basics!!!
It should be good, I expect it to be a great effort by both men. A key to this fight is if Canelo lays it ALL out and tries to take it from Floyd! If he just wants to go the distance like the other guys do he'll loose and will hate himself later for not giving all he has!
When a young fighter looses to the champion with a less than a major effort it can ruin his career. If he puts it all out and looses he grows from the experience emmensely! Ray.
I agree the jab is key especially when dealing with Floyd, De La Hoya had success with the jab even though it wasn't winning him rounds it was making Floyd uncomfortable. He also didn't throw the jab to the face but to Floyd chest which backed him up to the ropes.

He abandoned it I believe because he wasn't able to hit Floyd solidly while he was getting tattooed with the right hand. Thus he elected to keep his guard up until Floyd back in the ropes and give off desperate flurries in SRL-Hagler esque way via unsuccessful.

Canelo just can't give up on the jab just keep trying and trying. Just like in football you must have a balance offense and the rushing attack is the foundation of all you do to set up offense. Going up the middle, direct head on to feint, or to set up other offense is key.

Shane is basically saying what Im saying. Floyd is the best in boxing but he could lose or have trouble with these guys strictly on size. He kept coming back to that. Its the size & 20 pound advantage that makes the Canelo, triple G, Sergio, Lara, etc... fights all interesting. The sad part is that Floyd doesnt get extra credit for it.
