Comments Thread For: Broner’s Choice: BoxingScene Review and Ratings Update

Adrien Broner did what he came to do on paper. He jumped two weight classes, won a fight he was supposed to, and left with a lightly regarded belt.

Off paper, he had a far more difficult time with Malignaggi than a fighter with his level of hype should have. Broner gets touted as the future and is generating the sort of buzz and TV ratings to make TV executives hopeful that he will be. He possesses a lot of the physical tools one would want to see.

But, in the ring, he’s been a little bit lucky to get wins over Fernando Quintero and Daniel Ponce De Leon. Last Saturday, he appeared from these eyes to have solidly earned the win over Malignaggi, but it was far from impressive. [Click Here To Read More]

I don't get the hate on his power all of a sudden. Who has ever really hurt Malignaggi?

Cotto at 140 put him down, but Malignaggi wasn't even really wobbled, he jumped right back up and looked unfazed.

He said himself that he was way more hurt in the Cotto fight. He wanted to continue. Edit: nvm I forgot about that second round lol...

cliff rold is jealous. he's always looking for the negatives and write about it. but he plays down the positives and moves on. broner can give a cats ass about rold and anybody else who don't like him. he aint going nowhere. and he's only going to get better.

Broner is going to be just fine and is well on his way to becoming a BOXING SUPERSTAR regardless if people like him personally or not.

That being said, you might want to prove yourself first before walking around with this "I AM BETTER THEN EVERYBODY" attitude, when Mayweather turned into "MONEY" Mayweather during the build up of the Oscar De La Hoya Fight...Mayweather was sitting at the top of boxing and was considered the UNDISPUTED P4P King at that time

Broner is still at the "PROSPECT" stage of his career especially at 23 years old, you should be more humble and HUNGRY at that age and you should destroy everything that is put in front of you at that age, if he is trying to Follow Mayweather's Blue Print then he should watch the YOUNG MAYWEATHER because young Mayweather was fighting the best at a young age and was DOMINATING the best

Great article. I too am baffled as to why Broner never got a point deducted for his kick. He's got the skill and (love it or hate it) personality to make it even bigger than he currently is, but he's gotta keep his head straight while in the ring. That won't fly against tougher opposition or with a ref with a little less time for childishness in the ring.
