Raging Bull is a perfect film, I can’t believe how most people can’t see that, the acting was incredible, the story being told was tragic, that ending with Deniro gaining all that weight.

Cinderella Man was good, but slightly overrated, I would have loved for them to show Braddock fighting Louis and would only fight him for taking a piece of his earnings for the rest of his career. Braddock wasn’t that nice of a guys like how they depicted in that film.

Rocky was a really good underdog story, but the fighting scenes were terrible, some actors were just way over the top, it was like watching wrestling.
Good movie, not the best but pretty decent. The performance by Bale was really good but for me the best performance was by Melissa Leo, she really was amazing in the film. I remember than when I saw the movie I didn't know the other actresses nominated for best performance in a supporting role but I was sure that she was going to take the award.

      1. Raging Bull
      2. The Fighter
      3. Rocky
      4. Ali
      5. Cinderella Man

All of these are good though.

You guys didn't list Millionaire Dollar Baby though? C'mon! Speaking of which that book is one of the best boxing books I've ever read. Amazing short stories.
Million dollar baby is awesome as well.

Raging Bull isn't just the best boxing movie ever, or even the best sports movie ever....it's one of the great films ever in general.

              Raging Bull
              The Fighter
              Cinderella Man
              Ali
              Rocky (notoriously overrated film)

Bale, Leo, Adams, their acting s**ts all over anyone in Rocky. I'm sorry. I just never got into Rocky. I can handle exaggerated fight scenes, it's a movie after all, but I can't stand crappy actors.

I didn't like Raging Bull even though I'm a Robert De Niro fan, partly because I don't like the wife-beating scumbag bully LaMotta.

                  My top 5:

                  1. Cinderella Man
                  2. Kid Galahad (1938)
                  3. Million Dollar Baby
                  4. Gladiator
                  5. Gentleman Jim (story of James Corbett)

I think the Rocky movies and The Fighter are overrated.

Here's a good list with links to trailers for most of them:

Boxing Movies Many sports film enthusiasts crown boxing movies to be the best sports related genre. Boxing films are the only sports related films to win an Academy Award for Best Picture, and they did it twice (Rocky, Million Dollar Baby)! These gritty films bring us death, depression, imprisonment and ultimately…victory! Title Year Rating Length American Brawler 2017 R 110 mins. Bleed for This 2016 R 117 mins. Hands of Stone 2016 R 111 mins. Creed 2015 PG-13 95 mins. Counterpunch 2013 R 97 mins. Grudge Match 2013 PG-13 113 mins. Real Steel 2011 PG-13 127 mins. Rigged (Fight Night)…
