  • SO at some point Alvarez will be in the pocket with Floyd...

...whether its in the centre of the ring or against the ropes

    Wat happens?

    Does Canelo rip off combos?
    Does Floyd tie him up?
Can Floyd defend and counter his combos?
Canelo will hestitate and pot shot?
Canelo out strengths MAyweather on the inside?
    None of the above?

opinions please... boxing fans NOT fan boys or agenda pushers - show me your workings like its a math test !! lol

It depends when he gets in the pocket. If it's the mid-to-late rounds, Canelo won't have the same energy and pop in his punches.

Now if he gets him in the pocket in the first couple of rounds he can hurt and stop Mayweather, he has a phenomenal combination of handspeed and power when he lets his hands go.

I see Canelo throwing combos early when in the pocket, but he's a bit too slow and will probably eat some quick counters by Floyd then get tied up or floyd will duck outta there. As it goes on later he'll try to potshot in the pocket and use his legs if he still has stamina left. It'll be interesting early in these exchanges but I have a feeling as it drags on, it'll be a typical Floyd fight unless Canelo is extremely hungry and collected.

alvarez will never be that close to floyd for long enouhg for it to matter. if he does he'll hurt him, and i'll be wrong.

mayweather will get under or slip past whatever alvarez throws, counter, and take a step to the side, the way he always does. either that or he will stay outside and out of range, where alvarez throws very little and floyd's style will win him rounds.
