he fogot to mention how a lot of his ppv fights have Mexican fighters on there and help him with the sales...I've said it before, lets see Floyd fight against an African American and nothing but non Hispanics on his undercard and see how he does
How about Floyd/Shane. Oh, that's right........Hispanics were so interested in the great matchup of Alvarez V Cottos little brother
Well I mean how many PPV's has Canelo headlined?? Is Floyd wrong? Would people have bought Alvarez vs Gomez if Mayweather vs Ortiz wasn't the main?
Would Alvarez vs Trout done more PPV's than Mayweather-Guerrero did?
Ok lets use your logic for a second
how many PPV buys was Floydie averaging before he fought Oscar?
somewhere in the mid 300's
after he vblew up
So by your logic would Floyd vs Hernandez PPV sold more than say Oscar vs Tito?
I dont think so.
Think before you type bro
for Floyd to even bring this up it really means something, sorry Floyd but Canelo is the A side here, had you been fighting Devon like you were planning to awhile back no one would give a ****, it took weeks for the Guerrero fight to sell out there were tickets still available 4 days before that fight. Also lets look at the majority of these crowds, theyre Canelo fans.. even in Grand Rapids.
So Canelo is the A side right?? Who is getting paid more by a long shot?? And how many PPV'S has Canelo headlined?? No if ands or buts...
Can you please answer those questions for me and prove me wrong!
Let's see Mayweather fight on his BDAY or better yet 4th of July(independence day)... you know how many people would show up???? like 38 at best... all family.... Let's see Canelo fight on Sept 14 (Mexican independence day) or Cinco De Mayo... you know how many people would show up??? SELL OUT @ MGM!!!!!.... Owned much?? ya that's what I thought... sit yo a$$ down!
How many PPV's has Canelo headlined? Simple question! OH AIGHT
This si his first one and its teh biggest one out there bar none and its because of both Floyd and him
how many PPVs was Floyd headling at 22 yrs old?
Simple Question
Canelo really isn't that big of a draw. Yeah, 40,000 at the Alamodome but how many of those were 15 dollars tickets. If he loses, is Alvarez going to be on PPV? Probably not. Alvarez is a very long way away from being at the level of Mayweather or having enough interest to shell out real cash on him. Other than Mayweather or Cotto, Alvarez wouldn't even be sniffing a PPV unless he was on the undercard.
Floyd is the A side for now. He's got to be a little insecure because this 22 year old kid is challenging his popularity. If he loses or even wins with controversy he might catapult Canelo to levels he can't reach. It's just the demographics of the fan base.
De La Hoya did it for Floyd though, so it's nothing to new. At 23, floyd was coming of fighting Carlos Gerena and moving towards Gregorio Vargas. Still over 5 years from headlining his first ppv. Let's be real, Mayweather is still the man but Canelo has potential to blow him out of the water in terms of popularity and pull. The big caveat to that is of, of course, is he good enough to actually beat floyd at this point. I say probably not. But the fact that there is doubt makes it intriguing.
