  • Closed Circuit Experience, where to watch fight in vegas?

We are going to vegas during the fight weekend and we were unable to get tickets to the fight so far. Has anyone ever been to a closed circuit event, if so what venus and would you recommend it? Where would be the best place to watch the fight in vegas, closed circuit or somewhere else?

    Thanks.

The Aria casino has nice room to watch the fight. They also sell tickets to watch the fight at the MGM Grand, but those sell out fast.

Vegas is where a lot of fights are held but it's not really the boxing mecca it is sold as. As far I'm aware there's nowhere you could really go to watch a big European fight on TV or even something like a Canelo-Trout or a New York fight.

I stayed at the Mirage the weekend of Floyd vs. Shane and watched the Closed Circuit in their big Closed Circuit Hall and it was pretty cool.

Imagine a huge banquet room with about 100 round tables that seat about 8 people per table with about ten 100 inch screens along the walls. The quality of the picture is average and the sound gets washed out due to all of the crowd noise, and you'll probably be sitting with other people you don't know at your table unless you are going with a group of 8-10 and you get your own table. This is a good thing though because you're among other fight fans which makes for great conversation - even if they are rooting against your guy. They also sell drinks, cheap food, etc, and things are pretty orderly and enjoyable. I recommend going to the sportsbook prior and placing a waiger if you feel confident, then going down and locating where the the Closed Circuit room is and getting there early so you can get one of the tables closest to the screens and not in the middle of the room where you are further away.

I guess the coolest thing about Closed Circuit is that you are in a room with 5000 other fight fans and of course you have all the posters in the casino and can place bets, feel the buzz and energy in the city, etc...

That said, I can't believe they are charging $100.00 for a Closed Circuit ticket for this fight. I only paid $50.00 for May vs. Shane 3 years ago.

        Hope this helped...

heres exactly what too do !...........

try and scalp tickets before fight or check stubhub the day of fight

if no luck head to a MOVIE THEATER ...20$ and its WAYYYYYY better anc cheaper than 100$ closed circuit

its HD and has a larger crowd 200+ppl and great sounf

closed circut is a bunch of non boxing fan ass holes not paying attention making noise with terribel 100inch screens and bad sound quality

look for a local theater playing it !

Thanks for the info guys. The mgm room i saw some footage of closed circuit on youtube but the Mandalay bay looked like their closed circuit was in their actualy arena which looked pretty cool. Looked more impressive than the MGM one. How come all the local lounges and pubs within the casinos don't play the fights?

Because the lounges, bars, etc. have to pay exorbitant fees to broadcast the PPV in a public setting like that. They might have to add a cover fee for every person who walks into the bar whether they were aware of the fight or not...I imagine it could be lucrative for some places, but others it might marginalize the people who just want to drink and don't care about the fight. I'm not sure what the rate is now, but I've called around before and they told me it's at least $3,000 (this was a couple years ago, I'm sure it's more now.) Some places, outside the Strip, will still do it - I saw little signs and posters on random bars for Floyd/Ghost, but this was way outside the strip
