Comments Thread For: Malignaggi Hints He Might Retire if No Broner Rematch

Paulie Malignaggi appeared on this week's edition of BoxingScene Radio to talk about his split decision loss to Adrien Broner. Malignaggi won on one scorecard by the score of 115-113 while Broner received the nod 115-113 and 117-111 on the other two cards.

The former two-division champion said that Broner should ask for a rematch to prove that he can convincingly beat him. He pointed to when Floyd Mayweather faced Jose Luis Castillo in an immediate rematch after his close decision victory in their first encounter.

    A rematch would be OK.
It would bring Paulie a good deal of money for retirement.

man f__ a rematch! Paulie just wants another good payday. You only deserve a rematch if you have a chance to win (which he did not say he could do), not giving your opponent a chance to beat you more convincingly.

That's exactly what I wanted to imply...

Maybe Paulie should fight Cano again, dudes a freaking hypocrite. Frying about he's the champion and was at home, why didn't be say that after he fought Diaz in Houston! I give him credit his mouth has made him a lot of money, stick to announcing he's good at that.

The difference was many thought Castillo deserved the W vs Mayweather.

Barely anybody felt that Paulie deserved the W or even a draw vs Broner. Mostly people were just disappointed (somewhat irrationally) that Broner didn't KO or humiliate Paulie.

There is no "wrong" to right. No point to the rematch.

Paulie kisses Floyd's ass as much, if not more than Broner.

The point in a rematch is precisely the Paulie's payday for retirement.

No need for a rematch. He clearly lost. Close but he lost. Ill tell u this, it's hard to be disappointed with Broner but he's being hyped as the next star in boxing so winning isn't good enough. He had to either beat him up for 12 like Cotto did or stop him like how Khan did.
