A new opponent for world WBO minimumweight champion Moises Fuentes, who returns on Friday in non-title fight at Forum Tecate located in Tijuana. "Moi" Fuentes (16-1-1, 8 KOs) will face strong Verde (18-5-1, 14 KOs) in a 10-round flyweight contest. In his most recent fight, last March, Fuentes went to a close twelve round draw with Filipino Donnie Nietes, the WBO's junior flyweight world champion. Verde has experience. In April 2004 he became champion, winning the WBO's Latino minimumweight title and in June 2005 he lost a decision to Ivan Calderon. In his most recent bout, in November 2012, he knocked out Luis Becerra in two rounds.
