Comments Thread For: Kell Brook vs. Jones - Anthony Ogogo Added To The Card

Los Angeles - Team Great Britain Olympic star Anthony Ogogo will compete for the third time as a professional on July 13 at the MS3 Craven Park in Hull, live on Sky Sports on Betfair's "The Homecoming" along with the professional debut of Olympic teammate Luke Campbell MBE.

2012 Bronze Medalist Ogogo, who will face an opponent to be named in a six-round middleweight bout, joins a top class undercard in support of the debut of Gold Medalist Campbell and unbeaten Sheffield welterweight Kell Brook facing dangerous American Carson Jones in a rematch of their epic clash last July. Plus, Welsh featherweight sensation Lee Selby will be in action against unbeaten Romanian Viorel Simion, Derry Mathews and Hull's Tommy Coyle clash for the vacant Commonwealth lightweight title as well as appearances by English Super Middleweight Champion Rocky Fielding, unbeaten middleweight sensation John Ryder, light welterweight Curtis Woodhouse and local talents Joel Haigh and Zak Collins

Am I the only one who isn't that impressed by this fight card?
Even the main event to me looks stale, looks more like a keep busy main event instead of a legitimate fight that is going to prove to be one to watch.

Brook has left a stale taste because of the Alexander fight fallout. Really, this is a good rematch, but people are disappointed about not seeing Kell up against a top name in the division in Alexander, even his own fans, and so it's hard to get excited about Jones II at this moment.

This is absolutely a keep-warm fight for Brook, and probably the only one he could get that has an ounce of credibility. The first fight was competitive because Brook gassed, as such it looks like a decent rematch, which I'm not convinced it is.

I'd expect Brook to walk through Jones like he did in the first half of the first fight.

How does his mandatory situation lie at the moment - does it still stand after all the injuries and delays? He's been calling out Sugar Shane on twitter, so I'm guessing it doesn't still stand.
