I don't know what is going on but the fact that he has a low profile is an indication that all isn't right, He should be a high profile boxer by now, he beat both Kessler and Froch but they are not only more famous than him but also bring more money to the table than him, He is a gold medal winner and the man at 168 but someone like Broner is even more recognised than him SMH.
Ward's gentleman-like behavior and "low'profile" outside the ring don't seem to be actual issues. It's Ward's fighting style which doesn't fit to a "high profile" fighter -- pundits like it, general public doesn't.

This seems a bit like the Eddie Hearn/Barry McGuigan situation, it feels like Goossen doesn't want outsiders and co-promoters infringing on what he sees as promoters work.
This is so similar to the whole Bradley and Shaw situation..Ward will be signed to TR within the month..It makes sense..They can give Shaw what Goossen can't..Big Money and Big Money fights..

Who cares??He wins and is P4P the num 2 boxer in the world..He deserves to get more money and fame..TR is going to give that to him..
When HBO gives promoters dates for certain boxers, they'll place a price on what they're willing to pay for the fighter to fight opponent X, Y, and Z, including a televised undercard bout(s). The promoter will then contact the manager(s) of said fighter and divulge the different purses for the potential fights and attempt to get the fighter to accept the fight for x amount, then call the opponent(s) reps to see what they'd accept as fair compensation.
The issue is that if HBO gave Goossen $4M to make, for example, Ward-Stevenson, he can underreport what HBO gave him (taking more than his fair share), and negotiate Ward-Stevenson for $2-3M without ever disclosing what he actually received.
When a manager and co-promoter are in on the negotiations, the issue of underreporting becomes extremely difficult (unless they're in collusion).
