I've said it before, and i'll say it again. Cleverley is the most relevant fight domestically for Froch at the moment wether Froch thinks so or not.

He provides the opportunity for Carl to become a 2 weight-world champ in a winnable match-up, where in a case of a loss, he'll remain a Champ at 168.

Nobody else in Britain can offer anything close.

The only reason i don't see the fight happening is the Warren/Hearn politics.

This is a problem ^. Hearn seems determined to run Warren out of business.

Eddie Hearn doesn't want the fight. He said he'd even refuse Hopkins at a catchweight. He wants Froch to stay at 168. Fair enough I suppose but not if you're going to be fighting lesser opponents.

Yeah i'm not quite sure what he's trying to argue.

I've been a Froch fan since nobody on these boards had heard of him, yet can agree that Cleverly has more to offer in a fight with Froch, than Froch did with Calzaghe at the time (although Calzaghe's choice of opponents in Bika and Manfredo were short of anything spectacular).

Ward aside, a Cleverley match-up would be the next priority if i was Carl. (if Warren wasn't being a cunt for once)

And the IBF made sure to take Stevenson's #1 slot since he was going to fight Chad, Froch is shook and for good reason. And it's not like Stevenson has all the goods, it's that he has that power & that doesn't play nice with Froch's style. He gets creamed like corn.....
Yeah Froch has never fought a big puncher before, Kessler is feather fisted.

It does seem that way at times but Hearn said he'd listen to offers to make the fight at 168. According to him Froch's trainer won't have him fight over 12st so no catchweight fights with LHs. Warren's offer was at 173 or 174 despite Cleverly telling him he would do 168.

Froch is at the point where he's pulling in the casual fans and general public. Cleverly perhaps hasn't had the exposure to keep them interested.
