I think Maidana has been in enough notable opponents for people to know who he is.
The only way I would be OK with a Mosley fight is if it were on the Floyd-Canelo because of the exposure it would give Broner. Most of the people ordering and attending that event will not be hardcore fight fans. And Mosley would be far more recognizable to them than any other potential Broner opponent. But there would be no point in tht fight if it weren't on the Floyd-Canelo undercard.

As for Maidana, or even Matthysse. Both are great opponents for Broner. But again, from a marketing standpoint, neither bring anything to the table that could create an event like we just had with Paulie. Neither have a belt, whereas Broner could move down to 140 and challenge Garcia for a "title in a 4th division." And from a promotional standpoint, the Garcias are talkers, especially Angel. Neither Matthysse or Maidana is fluent in english. So the prefight build-up would be bettwe with Danny, leading to a bigger event.

Like I said, if I had my choice, Matthysse would be the opponent. But I understand the fight game good enough to know he nor Maidana is the most marketable opponent for AB right now.

I'd rather Broner be matched against a prime opponent on the under-card of the biggest PPV or fight Mosley on ShoBox. Mosley being the co-main event against Canelo and now Broner on a Mayweather PPV is simply ridiculous. And it'll be worse if Broner doesn't come through and give him a career-ending beating. Mayweather/Guerrero had interesting under-card fights, no reason changing the formula. Mosley might be a marketable name, but he has no future at this point. Making Broner/Maidana propels both of them forward regardless of the outcome. I guess I'm exhausted with faded fighters getting shot after shot. Casual fans aren't buying the PPV for the under-card, so does having Mosley on the marquee really make that much of a difference? Maidana will probably take less money than Mosley too. I feel like GBP benefits more from Broner/Maidana and less from Broner/Mosley.

Its about investing in the future of a kid GBP thinks is a future star. Why do you think Canelo is such an attraction now? Because he's fought on Floyd's undercards. And he fought Mosley. Broner is on the verge of becoming a crossover star. He needs an opponent on a big stage (no bigger stage than Floyd-Canelo) that causal fans can recognize. And there isn't a single casual boxing fan that knows who Marcos Maidana is. Sorry.

Again, this isn't about the best match-up for Broner. Its about crossing him over into the mainstream. And sadly, the two often don't coincide.

I think you're giving Mosley too much credit. Canelo had the Mexican fanbase from jump, all he needed was the under-card spot to crossover. A casual fan only knows the biggest fighters (Mayweather, Pacquiao) and will buy a PPV based on that. If that's the case, GBP should throw "real" boxing fans a bone and match Broner against someone prime/relevant. Casuals are probably aware of Broner according to his high HBO ratings, so I still don't see why GBP needs to add Mosley into the equation. If they're going to use Mosley as a stepping stone, put him against someone who actually needs hype like the winner of Chaves/Thurman.

If Matthysse doesn't get Danny, Broner would be a good replacement. I think Lucas beats them both.

Adrien broner should try his luck with Matthyse or maidana if danny garcia ducks matthyse.

The fans already picked, they want Matthysse, unless Matthysse-Garcia gets signed of course. Second in line is Maidana, so it's either one or the other, all depending.

Play safe first Broner, defend it against Provodnikov, because I had to agree with Maidana that he's gonna beat you before Matthysse will get his chance.
