Matthysse will win the vote I'm just anticipating the load of excuses from the Broner camp that will follow that vote

Mosley wouldn't be a challenge, like the idea of Berto though.

On The Ring magazine poll, Matthysse is predictably winning by a landslide with Maidana a distant second. But sitting back and giving it some thought, neither of those fights make a lot of business sense for Broner's career. Broner is an attraction that sells and needs storylines that creates buzz for events. And that's why I think Mosley on the Floyd-Canelo undercard would be the perfect fight, from a business standpoint of course, for AB's career right now. There will be no bigger stage for him to get mainstream exposure. And Mosley is a name casual fans recognize. The second best fight for him would be Garcia. I know Matthysse has all the buzz right now. But its Danny who's the real jr welterweight champion. And again, from a business standpoint, fighting Danny at 140 for a title in a 4th division is a bigger event than fighting Matthysse or Maidana, neither of who have even paper trinkets. I know neither of these fights would be popular among hardcore fans. But if a guy is gonna be a crossover star, the hardcore fanbase isn't one that needs to be satisfied. It sux, but that's the reality.

BTW, I voted for Matthysse on the poll...twice.

The problem with putting a young star against a faded veteran is the chance of them getting exposed. Let's say that Mosley pulls off the upset or Broner performs under expectations, that definitely does no favors for Broner's image. There's no reason for him to not fight someone in their prime. I think Maidana has been in enough notable opponents for people to know who he is.
