He basically doesnt say anything meaningful.... Just rattles off some names,,
Would love to see guerrero vs broner since they had all that smack talk awhile back and broner is now a champ, ghost coming off a loss to floyd,, '
Lets see what broner would do vs ghost
Most likely broner will challenge a lw like ricky burns...
He doesnt look good as a welter,
I agree. What Schaefer said doesn't tell anybody anything except that Broner has three weight classes to pick opponents from. I wonder if he will fight a really good fighter or choose another Paulie type fight?
I think that Broner picked Paulie because he needed a competitive sparring test for 12 rounds with someone less dangerous -- who Paulie actually was...
After the fight Broner said the bout was not about speed, it was about timing...
I'm just reviewing the fight, and I see Broner preoccupied in rehearsing his defense skills (which were good) and in efficiently countering...
(Broner did a big mistake in hyping the fight: he promised "fire works"... There were none. Just Adrien's arrogance while controlling the fight.)
His defense really wasn't that great at all. Paulie was throwing wildly the entire fight. Broner I believe is lucky Paulie has made a career of outpointing fighters and not STOPPING fighters. No punching power = no danger for Broner.
He has plenty of speed to improve his defense but, for that fight at least, he's lucky it wasn't against a big puncher. He got tagged plenty of times. We saw the difference between getting hit with a jab with no power behind it, and getting hit with one with decent power behind it. Huge difference, and that was just with the jab.
As I said earlier, he's got the talent to evolve in to a great fighter. Just lucky he didn't go against a real stiff challenge in his first venture to 147
Stop hating on what I wrote. Look I can do what you do too! DURRRR
try again chump.i don't have a problem with you hating.but you have a problem with me defending. so if you want me to take my foot off you neck. i will humbly do it.
Paulie was actually landing on him but with not enough power. Maidana will land on him as well, the difference is Marcos will put his face on the canvas.
I'm sure Broner could make a go at 147 or 140. I think last night was just a bad showing for him. He either gave Paulie too much or too little respect. He fought the wrong fight stylistically. For the life of me, I couldn't understand why he would just stand there and let Paulie tee off on him. Even though alot of those punches were blocked, it did not look good. Adrian Broner has the talent to go far in boxing. If he has too many nights like he did last night especially with his unlikeable persona, he will be on a fast track to being boxing next big joke.

I agree with this post, Broner has all the talent in the world to improve and he is only 23, most guys at 23 are still prospects fighting guys with records of 12-9-3 over 8 rounds. Having said that, Broner lacks the reflexes needed for that shoulder roll defence, a bit like a smaller Berto.
Going back to Schaefer, all the names he mentioned make sense and make for great fights. I genuinely believe Khan/Devon and Garcia/Lucas happen this year so he is left with Ortiz, Guerrero, Berto, Mosley, Peterson and Maidana. I reckon Peterson or Ortiz are most likely atm.

thats what makes this a great fight.maidana is slower than paulie, has no defense, and leaves himself wide open.
Broner is 23 yrs old....he's only gonna get better....so to think Paulie's success equals the next dude success is hater logic...no matter how you cut it....styles make fights...a brawler is NOT the poison for Broner...dude is very offensive minded and can defend very well....someone who BOXES and uses movement would frustrate him....Broner can be handcuffed and outworked to a certain degree....I think the cats who wanna see him lose is hoping that his chin aint proper....if you're gonna come at Broner, he's gonna touch you...simple!!
