After the Broner/Malignaggi fraud boxing may be losing too much credibility. They way in which Broner career was “built”, fights avoided and belts handed over to him, to guy that other than signing with Haymon just proves to be way too average a boxer. Things like the De Leon fight, the fight with Malignaggi where Broner lost in the eyes of most of us, and would have lost beyond any doubt if the referee had done his job, the credibility of boxing is at serious risk. We need to believe again that boxing is a bit more than pro wrestling.
We’re walking on thin ice here guys. Its bad that fight decisions are already based not on who clearly won but who has the best boxing godfather. We’re talking about that even if you KO champions ****** in the ring with ease, they will just shamelessly duck you and deny you the title.
Of course this has always happened, that’s correct, but its never been a)as common b) as shamelessly accepted by fighters, fans and organizers alike.
I at least need to believe that a guy that is the best has a chance to prove it. I’m sure I’m not alone in this belief.
